Yes, you can mount your Leica R lenses as well as Canon EOS lenses on this Canon D30 camera.  This way you have your choice of which Canon & Leica lenses to add to your system.  We can even supply you with a Nikon Adapter that will allow you to mount Nikon for an additional charge.  That gives you access to three lens systems with one camera.

All functions and programs work properly when mounting Canon EOS lenses.  When mounting Leica  or Nikon lenses on the Body, the important metering functions/modes will work perfectly.  You must focus the lens and stop down the aperture manually.  With the exceptionally bright viewfinder of the Canon D30 and super performance of the Leica lenses wide open, this is not an issue.  When you do need to stop down for increased depth of field, you get an immediate view of what will be in focus, automatically.  This is actually a plus, because what you see is what you get.  Will work with All Leica R Lenses, 1-2-3 Cam and ROM.

Actual Photo Taken with Canon D30 - No Alterations

Notice the fine Tonal graduations of the Rose petals.  We took the exact same picture with a Nikon D1 and equivelant lens at the same F-Stop & Exposure, the Rose petals were completely washed out and did not show the Color and Detail of the Canon D30 image.  The CMOS sensor of the Canon D30 has done a fine job.
