Leica Leicaflex Reviews When it comes to Leica SLR's, the Leicaflex series is my personal favorite. Made in Germany, these SLR's have a reputation as being the toughest SLR's ever built. They have very bright viewfinders, robust build quality, Leica smoothness (feel), DOF preview, mirror lock-up, self timer and are simply a joy to use. The Leica lenses of this period are legendary in their performance and are still considered to have better image quality than todays modern Japanese rivals. I'll tell you one thing, you can take a Leicaflex where a modern electronic camera wouldn't dare to go and it would still function. The Leicaflex is everything I require in an SLR camera. The Leicaflex SL2 being the best of the Users with the SL being just as good for most work. The original Leicaflex also makes a good user, especially if you do not require the more sophisticated Off The Film Plane metering of the SL and SL2. Leicaflex reviews by Douglas Herr' Leica 'R' Camera Reviews Leica R cameras are todays best used camera bargains. The R3, R4 & R5 were manufactured in a partnership with Minolta Corporation. They are variations of the Minolta XE-7 & XD-11. These cameras are not just standard Minolta cameras. The standard Minolta camera were vastly improved upon and built to the specifications of Leica. The R6, R6.2 are Full manual cameras built in Germany (the best of the bunch if you ask me) and require no batteries to function (except the meter of course). The R7 and R8 are the latest electronic marvels, built in Solms Germany. Leica R5 Leica R7
